Doug and Audrey Lyke purchase Ripon Commonwealth Press.

Purchase of 3-unit Goss web press and folder expands commercial print.

 
 

1975

Company moves to current facility.

 
 

1977

Commercial print spun off as separate unit.

 
 

1978

First saddle stitcher purchased.

 
 

1982

First “pure” commercial web press purchased.

 
 

1985

Andy Lyke joins company as controller and helps launch expansion.

 
 

1987

First hot glue perfect binder purchased.

 
 

1990

First of two Hantscho coldset web presses purchased.

 
 

1997

Goss G18 coldset web press purchased.

 
 

1999

Andy Lyke named president.

 
 

2001

Facility expanded to 210,000 square feet to accommodate new bindery equipment and expanding fulfillment services.

First Creo Platesetter opens up the computer-to-plate digital world.

Mueller Martini Prima SB60 saddle stitcher offers selective binding.

 

2002

The Lyke's 40th Anniversary Celebration features great food, balloons and a book of current and former employee memories and reflections.

Doug Lyke passes away November 22.

 
 

2003

8-unit MAN Roland Rotoman N heatset press purchased. First “stacked” installation in North America.

Began the eighth addition, increasing total square feet to 244,000.

 

2004

Canon imageRUNNER 110 digital production system purchased for short-run needs.

Rotoman N Heatset press commissioned in April.

 

2006

Can now add sticky notes to outside of pieces with "Dot Whacker".

Enhanced sheetfed capabilities, added a Heidelberg 6/color Perfecting press.

The start of our "Lean" Journey -- seeking out waste, improving workflow.

Produced Guinness World Record "largest printed catalogue (standard edition)" -- 2,656 pages, 7.4 pounds & 2.875" thick.

Kodak Prinergy system adds automation to premedia workflow.

 

2007

Mueller Martini Bolero perfect binder adds PUR glue, layflat and book sawing capabilities.

Kodak InSite adds on-line proofing to Prinergy capabilities.

CoMail option added.

 

2008

Accepted into Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Green Tier Program.

Canon imagePRESS C6000 Full Color Digital Press adds a colorful option, along with personalization and variable data.

Awarded G7 Master Certification by IDEAlliance.

Received FSC & SFI Chain of Custody certificates.

 

2009

Second manroland Rotoman N Heatset Press goes into production -- 5 units with sheeter.

Digital Storefront opens for business.

Passed NAPL Customer Service Competitive eKG.

First title of the popular “Tips” booklet series is published.

 

2010

Added second Canon imagePRESS C6000 Full Color Digital press.

Gold Award Winner – Marketing Plus Competition sponsored by National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) and Xerox.

Platinum “RAVE” Award from NAPL for Customer Relationships.

Three levels of Digital Editions available.
